PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
This full-time position is responsible for leading the Fraternity’s Read > Lead > Achieve initiatives, supporting Community Relations Team functions and developing programs, trainings and curriculum for many Pi Beta Phi education initiatives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engages with chapters, alumnae clubs and the general membership to promote and support the Fraternity’s reading initiatives. Communicates and shares the story of Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropic priorities as a lead ambassador for Read > Lead > Achieve.
- Responsible for a strong relationship with the Fraternity’s literacy partnerships, including First Book. Manages reading initiatives including the FDS500 grant program, Champions are Readers and others in support of organizational priorities. Partners with Events Coordinator to manage Fraternity Day of Service Signature Events.
- Leads literacy strategy efforts, ensuring data driven decisions on partnerships to support communities are executed, member engagement is maximized, and grant and donor support can be realized. Translates the impact of donor support within reading and educational initiatives.
- Collaborates with Pi Beta Phi Foundation and Chapter Finance to support best practices within chapter fundraising events to influence chapter and collegiate giving strategies.
- Supports chapter public relations marketing efforts. This may include providing guidance on chapter social media efforts, chapter website support, Arrow submissions, and other external facing communications as well as encouraging servant leadership when working with local community organizations.
- Manages all aspects of Critical Conversations, including development and upkeep of programmatic offerings, maintains relationships with facilitators and potential content contributors, and manages chapter visit schedule. Initiates follow up as needed and supports reimbursement and financial approvals.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Education and Programs develops curriculum for programs and trainings such asLeading with Values,SOAR trainings, and ongoing inclusion education.Develops and facilitates programs as needed.
- Partners with Marketing and Communications staff to execute assigned awareness weeks.
- Partners with the Director Community Relations to support community relations functions and the specialists team.
- Oversees Pi Phi Pages, Pi Phi’s interactive online book club, by being part of the books selection process and coordinating with a volunteer facilitator.
- Leads and supports Strategic and Operational Plan work as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or program development or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Member of Pi Beta Phi preferred, but not required.

Each position is externally benchmarked, and the salary ranges are evaluated annually. The salary range for positions is based on local and fraternal market data and allows for various experience levels. The actual pay is based on skills, experience, education and other relevant factors. Minimum salary in this grade level is $52,530.
